A range of activities is offered each month. These include day trips, visits to local venues and theatre visits. Information on each month's activities is available in the Monthly Newsletter. Sign-up sheets for these activities are available at the Monthly Meetings in Adare and also at the various other meetings.
Some of the events in September, October and November 2008 include:
- A guided tour of the extensively renovated Castle Oliver in Ardpatrick.
- Black & Silver dinner party
- Barn Dance in Adare
- A visit to the facilities of Mr. Binman (refuse/waste collector) in Limerick.
In November 2007 the IWO organized a huge fund raising event in the form of a fashion show. The show, named Fashion Cares, raised 23,000 Euros for the new breast cancer unit at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital.
